Spiritual Bypassing vs Spiritual Maturity
Spiritual growth isn’t enough, not when you’ve got unhealed wounds. I know it’s tempting to want to grasp towards the higher realms, but many of us are doing this without having made a genuine effort to clear the pain from our past.
You need to be cleared before you can be receptive.
You need to be receptive before you can be filled.
Much like the chakra system, your psycho-spiritual progression requires your basic needs to be met before ascending upward. Watch out for times when you’ve been seeking revelation and lose yourself in your own reflection… watch out for spiritual bypassing.
Spiritual bypassing might look fanciful upon first glance, but it is nonetheless defined by chaos and false hope, both of which are evident in people who pretend to live full-time in the celestial realms despite struggling with money, relationships and basic forms of self-care such as diet and exercise.
The spiritual bypasser is destabilised, and generally lacking in both self ownership and emotional resilience, which makes them likely to point the blame at God, or the stars and planets, rather than take responsibility for their behaviour.
I’m not here to point blame, spiritual escapism can be an excellent protective mechanism for some people growing up in challenging families, but enduring faith is embodied not ethereal.
I’ll say it this way: the higher planes will never be fully accessible if you’re not solidly rooted in your day-to-day reality.
Ultimately, the full-spectrum growth journey is about staying grounded and accepting that you cannot run from your past.
You’re seeking the light, but old shadows will appear in the place of the light you’re seeking, and their unwelcome presence is your opportunity to release the past and return to grounded presence.
The true transformation is making sure that your body is a place you want to inhabit - mentally, physically, spiritually. This means taking the time to sort through the baggage you’ve been accumulating, and making the space to receive the inflow of subtle words and sensations from the unseen realms.
Clearance before revelation, and containment before reception.
