Mood Swings Vs Chronic Trauma

Do you keep getting anxious or overwhelmed? Mood swings are normal, but the underlying cause of your emotional disturbances can often be hard to find and overcome.

If you’re somebody who keeps getting thrown around by your feelings and you want to break the cycle of high-highs and low-lows, then you need to embrace the self healing journey by considering what was or wasn’t happening when you were growing up.

Recurring emotional disturbances are almost always rooted in historical issues, especially early life experiences with our caregivers, and understanding your patterns is the gateway into deeper nervous system repair.

I’ll be honest with you, there isn’t a quick fix solution for healing complex trauma and achieving permanent nervous system repair. The clinical literature suggests that most people require a sustained period of introspective reflection and practical changes to fully move on from challenging experiences.

Don’t believe what you see online, healing yourself takes time… even highly motivated individuals will typically require several years of patient and honest emotional processing to finally feel safe.

Somatic Therapy and Bioenergetics are two of my favourite holistic healing approaches to deep trauma resolution & everyday emotional regulation. I recommend reading books by people like Peter Levine and Alexander Lowen to identify and work through the deeper unconscious challenges.

Whatever you choose to do today, please take this post as your invitation to go further with repairing the unresolved wounds which keep showing up as symptomatic mood swings or emotional crashes.
